Broome Car Club

WE ARE BRAND NEW! And we Welcome New Members! This is a Page/Club in Broome Western Australia where people can Share their love of Cars, Motorbikes and 4WDs, make New Friends, participate on Car Runs and post their favourite photos.

Broome has long needed a Car Club as there are lots of people who own awesome Wheels in Broome!! When I purchased my 2nd Monaro in 2009 I so wished to belong to a Car Club (also you get a discount from Shannons if you belong to a Car Club!). I knew that there were a lot of Car, Bike and 4wd Enthusiasts out there in Broome/Derby but didn't have a clue on how to connect everyone let alone Start up a Car Club so I just pondered over the years.

Once I realised what a powerful tool Facebook was to bring people together who shared the same passion, I knew it was time. So the idea of starting the Broome Car Club was born! Everyone and Anyone is Welcome to join our Facebook Page/Club. You don't even have to live in the region to be a Member just a lover of anything with wheels! We will endeavour to connect you with other Enthusiasts around the Nation and them with Us.

A little bit about the Founder of Broome Car Club.....

Hi, my name is Julia Prynne - I've been in Broome for 13 years and grown up with cars - having owned aussie muscle cars such as an XU1, Torana SS Hatchback, HT Monaro, HR Holden and classics such as Alfa Romeo, partly restored a Triumph TR6, a split-screen Kombi, an oval window VW and all serviced by my mechanic - my Dad (Neil Prynne) who owned Ace Tune Mobile Mechanics in the Rockingham/Mandurah area and who also has owned Vintage, Classic and Australian Muscle Cars and proudly owned a GT 351 XY in the 1970's and a showroom condition blue Aston Martin DB6. He built an AC Shelby Cobra from the ground up and who is also my Enclyclopedia(!). My brother(Steve Prynne) who is a sought after Expert Spray Painter of Sports Cars and Modern Day cars and who was State Champion Go-Karter from the age of 10 and used to race with Garth Tander (and used to beat him I may add!), and who also went up to Formula Fords as an up and coming Racing Car Driver. Also, my Mum (Pauline Prynne) who always had driven a beautiful sports car of some sort and who still drives a BMW Coupe. My Uncle Barry owned a TR2, an Austin Healy and an E-Type Jaguar. Another Uncle (Colin Lockwood) who used to race Jaguar E-Types and owned an Aston Martin DB6, and yet another Uncle (Ken Lindsay) who owns a Daimler SP250 (2.5ltr V8) (known as a Daimler Dart). I also have a cousin (Trevor Lindsay) who also owns a multitude of Triumphs TR3 - TR6 and currently races a Triumph GT6, so I suppose you could say it's in the blood!

I currently own a burnt orange Monaro 5.7ltr and my partner owns a Black SS Thunder Ute 6ltr and we both have a love of cars/4wding and Motorbikes. Our cars don't get out much as they live in the Shed, but they would like to!

It has been my passion to start a Car Club in Broome for four years so that the Broome Community (who has lots of Car Enthusiasts and some awesome vehicles as we've seen them!), can meet up who have the same interests. I have a business in town but also have time to dedicate myself to forming this Club.

We not only want people to join who own cars, but 4WD's and Motorbikes too. We will also go on 4wd runs up the coast (when the rains stop).

Yes, I envisage the Broome Car Club to grow and become big! Going by the feedback and interest from everyone already - it's going to grow fast. We've only been on fb since the 5th February and nearly had 150 people interested. We've also had had interest from other car/bike clubs and organisations who want to support us and think it's a great idea too.

I would like to see the Broome Car Club grow to the point where we will form a Committee, and have an actual Membership to cover things like insurance on our Car Runs, shirts, stickers, caps, banners for exhibitions, Show and Shines, and help raise money for local community causes. It's pretty exciting! So don't miss our First Car Run on Sunday 24th February, your input to the future of Broome Car Club is important!
